Chhinnamasta  or Chinnamastika temple popularly known as Chintpurni Temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of Devi Shakti. It is located in Una district of Himachal Pradesh. According to Hindu mythology, when Lord Shiva was carrying the body of Devi Sati, Lord Vishnu started to severe the body parts one by one to reduce the weight of grief from Lord Shiva’s shoulders. Chhinnamasta is the place where the forehead of Devi Sati fell in this place which is one of the most important Shaktipeeths. One can reach Chintpurni by road, train or air. For traveling by air, the nearest airport to Chintpurni is Gaggal airport or Kangra airport in Dharamshala which is around 70 kms. from Chintpurni. The flights can be costly as there is very less number of flights coming to this airport. After landing, one has to take a taxi and travel for approximately 2 hours to reach Chintpurni.
